Summary
For the linear Cantor systems (LCS) with a single scale it is shown that the moments of the measure can be transformed into a new set of moments for an atomic mesure. Given this second set of moments a LCS equivalent to the original one is determined. The method is then used to recontruct a LCS with an arbitrary number of scales whose measure or its moments are given. The solution is not unique, but at any order the best solution corresponds to the LCS whose measure is the closest to the given measure; a convergence theorem for the sequence of best approximating measures is given.
