Summary
The (n, 2n) reaction from127I at 14.5 MeV incident neutron energy has been studied. NaI is used as a target as well as a detector of gamma-rays. The measured angular distributions of neutrons in coincidence with a pulse height are found to be symmetric about 90° and agree well with the predictions of the theory of statistical decay of the compound nucleus.
