Abstract

We recall the beginnings of the scientific activity of Oreste Piccioni and the role of the Italian Physical Society in his early work and in all his activity.

Si ricorda l’inizio dell’attività scientifica di Oreste Piccioni, prima promettente allievo della Scuola Normale Superiore, poi artefice con Conversi e Pancini del famoso esperimento sui mesoni μ. Si evidenzia il suo costante legame con la Società Italiana di Fisica, mantenuto per tutta la vita.
