Electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations of the Kerr metric

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

For the Kerr metric, we calculate all of the NP components of a test electromagnetic field and all of the NP components of the curvature tensor for gravitational perturbations, using formulae derived by Cohen and Kegeles. We express these NP components in terms of known functions. We also give a new derivation of the Teukolsky-Press identities for electromagnetism and gravitation, using the formalism of Geroch, Held and Penrose.
