Heavy-ion fusion cross-sections predicted by a phenomenological formula

Summary

Fusion cross-sections, for a wide range of nuclei and energies, are successfully described by a simple phenomenological formula involving only few universal parameters. The predictions are also compared with those obtained with other empirical expressions.

Le sezioni d'urto di fusione, per un gran numero di nuclei ed in un ampio intervallo di energie, sono ben descritte da una semplice formula fenomenologica che utilizza solo pochi parametri universali. Le previsioni ottenute da tale formula sono anche confrontate con quelle ottenute da altri autori con le loro espressioni empiriche.
