τ-decay intoρπ, A1-ρ-π system and the quark model

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

Theτρπν τ decay is discussed in the context of a current algebra model based on higher commutators involving the divergence of the axial vector current. Comparison with the available experimental data is performed.

  12. To be precise, these relations simply represent the canonical singularities of commutators at equal times, which follow from formal manipulations of quark fields, a procedure which has been widely adopted so far in many instances, but which may be not fully justified in QCD, at the loop level, in certain cases (12). On the other hand, although interesting, we do not feel it worthwhile, for our qualitative considerations, taking into account this complication here, which would require a much more elaborate soft-pion treatment than is available at present.
