Relativistic bound states and cross-sections

Summary

We consider the role of stationary states within the context of relativistic quantum mechanics. We find that we can obtain energy levels for bound states and scattering cross-sections for particles, but that a probabilistic interpretation of the wave function requires the introduction of quasi-stationary states and the determination of a cross-section for pair annihilation leads to the use of time-dependent perturbation theory.
