Analysis of α scattering from23Mg at 12.5 MeV in terms of the coupled-channel calculation

Summary

Angular distributions relative to elastic and inelastic (1/2+ at 0.59 MeV, 3/2+ at 0.97 MeV, 7/2+ at 1.61 MeV and 5/2+ at 1.96 MeV) scattering of α-particles from25Mg have been measured in the energy range (12.1 ÷ 12.9) MeV in steps of 50 keV. The experimental data have been analysed in terms of the statistical and nonspherical optical model. The direct contribution to the cross-section has been calculated with the coupledv formalism. Excitations of rotational bands built on different single-particle states have been taken into account.
