Regge poles for large coupling constants in the Wick-Cutkosky model

Summary

Following an initial investigation of Cheng and Wu we examine the solutions of the Wick-Cutkosky model of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the case of unequal masses in the region of large coupling constants. Two branches of the solution are given covering the entire range of the independent variable. The tight-binding anomalies associated with the ladder approximation are discussed and the Regge trajectories are calculated. It is found that the pomeron trajectory—interpreted as the leading singularity of the «potential» rather than the amplitude— is located atJ>1 if the coupling is sufficiently strong.

Proseguendo un esame iniziato da Chang e Wu si esaminano le soluzioni del modello di Wick e Cutkosky dell'equazione di Bethe-Salpeter nel caso di masse disuguali nella regione delle grandi costanti di accoppiamento. Si danno due rami della soluzione che coprono l'intero campo della variabile indipendente. Si discutono le anomalie di legame stretto associate con l'approssimazione a scala e si calcolano le traiettorie di Regge.
