Evidence for double diffractive dissociation in π+p reactions at 5 GeV/c

Summary

Evidence of double diffractive dissociation in 5 GeV/c π+p reactions is found by analysing angular distributions in selected longitudinal phase-space regions. The size of the observed effect is compatible with expectations from factorization.

Si trova evidenza di doppia dissociazione diffrattiva in reazioni π+p a 5 GeV/c analizzando distribuzioni angolari in opportune regioni dello spazio delle fasi longitudinale. L'effetto osservato è compatibile con le previsioni della fattorizzazione.

Анализируя угловые распределения в отобранных областях продольного фазового пространства, было получено подтверждение двойной диффракционной диссоциации в реакциях π+p с начальным импульсом 5 ГэВ/с. Величина наблюдаемого эффекта сравнима с ожидаемыми значениями, которые следуют из факторизации.
