On the pion form factor in a Bethe-Salpeter model

Summary

We present a Bethe-Salpeter model in which phenomenological potentials are used to reproduce the ρ peak in the ππ scattering amplitude. Then we take the off-shell amplitude to calculate the pion electromagnetic form factor. We use the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the ladder approximation and solve it by iteration and application of the Padé approximation method. Reasonable agreement with the vectordominance model is achieved.

Si presenta un modello di Bethe-Salpeter in cui si usano potenziali fenomenologici per riprodurre il picco del ρ nell'ampiezza dello scattering ππ. Si prende l'ampiezza fuori strato per calcolare il fattore di forma elettromagnetico del pione. Si usa l'equazione di Bethe-Salpeter nell'approssimazione a scala e la si risolve per iterazione con l'applicazione del metodo dell'approssimazione di Padé.
