Summary

Presentation of a case of extensive necrosis of the skin and subcutaneous tissue of the infraumbilical region after classical abdominoplasty. Discussion about the causes of this complication. Provisional treatment by excision and skin grafting, definite treatment by tissue expansion and psychological support, partially due to concomitant successful blepharoplasty.
