A study of accidental poisoning in children in West Bengal

Summary

Forty cases of poisoning in children have been reported. Children of the age group 1–3 years were the main victims. Vegetable alkaloids were responsible for the maximum number of cases (30%) andDhatura seed was the chief offender. The mortality rate was fortunately low accounting for 5% of all cases.
