An unusual type of subacute subglottic narrowing causing prolonged and persistent upper airway obstruction

Summary

Two children with acquired subacute subglottic narrowing are reported. They presented with persistent and slowly progressive laryngeal stridor and inspiratory distress of over ten weeks' duration and demonstrated a dramatic response to steroids. The aetiopathogenesis of this rare type of subglottic narrowing has been discussed.
