Bell’s theorem and retroactivity; on an objection by Sutherland

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

Sutherland formulated a more explicit way of stating Bell’s theorem and concludes that only an implausible assumption can save the explanation of EPE nonlocality by means of retroactive influences from leading to a paradox. We argue thata) the relevant more explicit statement assumes more than such a nonlocality contains,b) the implausible assumption needs not be made in order to prevent a paradox from ensuing if we explain EPR nonlocality via retroactive effects, so thatc) the explanation of the relevant nonlocality by such effects has not been refuted by the arguments in question.
