Summary

The complexity of trajectories in the phase space of anharmonic crystals (mostly a Lennard-Jones chain) is analysed by the variance of microcanonical density and by new parametersP and ϰ defined, respectively, as the mean value of the time averages and the relative variance of the absolute exchange rate of energies among the normal modes. Evidence is given to the trapping action of residual invariant surfaces in low stochastic regime of motion. The parameter ϰ, moreover, proves efficient in exploring the border of stochasticity. A simple power law forP vs. the specific energy is obtained and proved to be independent of stochasticity and of the type of anharmonic potential.

La complessità delle traiettorie nello spazio delle fasi di cristalli anarmonici (principalmente una catena di Lennard-Jones) è analizzata mediante la varianza della densità microcanonica e mediante nuovi parametri P eϰ rispettivamente definiti come il valor medio delle medie temporali e la varianza relativa del tasso di scambio delle energie fra i modi normali. Si mette in evidenza l’azione d’intrappolamento delle superfici invarianti residue in regime di moto bassamente stocastico. Il parametroϰ mostra inoltre efficiente nell’analisi del bordo di stocasticità. Si ottiene una semplice legge di potenza per P in funzione dell’energia specifica, che si dimostra indipendente dalla stocasticità e dal tipo di Potenziale anarmonico.
