Abstract

Whole-rock Rb-Sr isochron dating of Sn-bearing granites and alkaline rocks from Gejiu, Yunnan Province has been conducted for their emplacement ages and initial87Sr/86Sr ratios. The Sr isotopic compositions of apatites from some basic rocks in Jiasha, and granite bodies also have been studied in detail. The genesis and evolution of Gejiu Sn-bearing granites as well as ore-search indicators are discussed on the basis of the available data in conjunction with the geochemical data on trace elements (such as Rb and Sr), Sr isotopic characteristics of the volcanic rocks, meta-diabase and host rocks and the isotopic features of ore leads.
