The American Journal of Digestive Diseases

Conclusions

  1. 1.

By clinical observations Banthine delays motility of the colon in patients who have constipation, chronic ulcerative colitis, spastic colitis, ileostomies, and normal persons.

  2. 2.

By roentgenologic observations, Banthine delays motility of the colon in the same group of patients studied clinically.

  3. 3.

By roentgenologic evaluations, the optimum delay in the motility of the colon is noted in the cecum.
