Abstract

A reaction of nitrogen insertion in the molecule of 3,4,3′,4′-bis(ethylenedithio)-2,2′,5,5′-tetrathiafulvalene across the C-S bond with expansion of the heterocycle to the six-membered one was found. Crystal and molecular structure of the product was determined (C10H8N2S8, 1335 reflections, R=0.026). The crystals are monoclinic, a=4.379, b=11.404, c=15.207 Å, β=92.05°, Z=2, space group P21/n.
