Abstract
The nuclear-spin-polarization-detected ESR spectrum is observed for intermediate radicals generated during the hydrogen abstraction reaction of 2,6-dichloro-p-benzoquinone. SNP spectra for the radical pair and the DNP spectrum for the free radical were observed separately. Experimental spectra are analyzed with the aid of theoretically obtained SNP and DNP spectra, and the chemical species responsible for the radical pair and the free radical were determined. The time sequence of both the radical pair and free radicals were obtained. The radical pair exists in solution for about 400 ns.
