Abstract
Photochemistry and photophysics of dithiolate-diimine zinc complexes with the lowest ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (LLCT) excited state were studied. Investigated complexes were found to be nonluminescent because LLCT transition is symmetry-forbidden. Steady-state and flash photolysis experiments indicate that LLCT* state of these complexes can reduce methylviologen and oxygen.
