Abstract
Geological and geochemical characters are discussed for the breccias in the Nanjing-Wuhu area, with special reference to their cryptoexplosive origin. The close association of mineralization, particularly of iron, with the breccias has been evaluated in terms of geothermal and geochemical evidence. A successful example in using the breccias as a prospecting indicator is illustrated in this paper.
