Abstract

The author describes a new genus of the familyThelypteridaceae based on the speciesPolypodium limbospermum All.; the genus includes two species only. The morphological characterization on the genus and its delimitation, especially in relation to the genus.Thelypteris Schmidel, is given and comments are made on the nomenclatural problems regarding especially the nomenclature of the generic nameThelypteris Schmidel 1762. Besides description of the genusOreopteris Holub and two new nomenclatural combinations for its species—O. limbosperma (All.)Holub andO. quelpaertensis (Christ) Holub—the combinationThelypteris palustris Schott subsp.pubescens (Lawson) Holub is also proposed.
