Abstract

A review of the description of the potato cultivar Highlat Russet indicated sources of resistance to the golden nematode,Globodera rostochiensis, in its pedigree. In routine resistance evaluations in 1980, accession 34-2AK, that was later released as cv. Highlat Russet, was rated resistant to the golden nematode. In 1986, evaluation of Highlat Russet confirmed its excellent resistance to the golden nematode.
