Abstract
Descriptions (mainly of microstructures) are given for two Japanese species:Albatrellus cantharellus (Lloyd) Pouz. andA. yasudai (Lloyd) Pouz. The former is classified, along with other amylosporous species lacking clamps on the context hyphae, asA. subrubescens (Murrill) Pouz.A. yasudai is referred to a new separate subgenusHymenidermiger Pouz. based on the hymeniform cuticle of the pileus, which is a unique character in this genus.
