Abstract

A diplomonad flagellateHexamita capsularis sp. nov. from the posterior intestine of the fish (Xenocypris dividi) from Liangzi Lake, Hubei Province, is described. The flagellate was oval, with smooth surface and homogenous cytoplasm, 6.21±0.28 μm in length, 3.43±0.48 μm in width and with an elliptical capsule. Two recurrent flagellae arranged between two nuclei ran longitudinally to the posterior end. Fibrillar bands connected the accessory organelles of two cytostomal tubes, the body depressed at the posterior end of the body.
