Abstract

The rooting law of modern Chinese rose variety-Betty prior at different conditions was studied during l995–96. The suitable temperature for initiating healing organization which is a prerequisite for rooting was about 21°C. The experimental result showed the percent root was not directly related to healing organization, but related to the cutting’ diameter. The cutting diameter should be 4∼5 mm in order to keep a higher rooting rate in water cutting. Percent root of water cutting had direct relations with temperature. The most suitable temperature for Chinese rose rooting was in range of 20∼25°C.
