Study on the forecast of pine-cone weevil

Abstract

Pine-cone weevil (Pissodes validirostris Gyll.) is one of the most important pests of Scots pine (Pinus syvestris var.mongolica). The quality and quantity of cone were damaged seriously by this pest. In order to provide a foundation for the control of this pest, the prediction of occurrence date of pine-cone weevil was studied with the methods of time of undergo, the effective accumulative temperature and the phenology forecast. The occurrence quantity was studied on the basis of the rules of the population dynamic and the environmental influences on this pest.
