Generalised cytomegalovirus infection in a case with combined immuno-deficiency

Abstract

Clinical, laboratory and autopsy findings in a six-month-old infant having severe combined immunodeficiency are described. The infant also had generalised disseminated cytomegalovirus infection involving the liver (cytomegalovirus hepatitis), lungs, ileum, colon, spleen, lymphnodes, adrenals, kidney and bone marrow.
