Abstract
Evaluation of knowledge and competence of anganwadi workers employed in Integrated Child Development Services Scheme of urban slums of Bombay was carried out. Significant improvement in knowledge regarding various aspects of health and nutrition components was noted after the training. Results of the study show the initial inadequate knowledge inspite of training programmes. It is suggested that more frequent and on-the-job training should be imparted.
