Abstract
A method was evolved to assess objectively the quality of child care provided in the under fives' clinic in a primary health centre. A checklist of quality items with a scoring procedure was used to study the care given to 105 children in 25 under-five clinic days. The method enabled to identify early the extent of the desired quality of various components of child health care provided in the clinic. It also could identify the deficiencies in the components of care requiring improvement.
