Boundary information extraction in industry inspection

  • Published:
Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences

Abstract

Edge processing of binary image has been one of the most fundamental issues in the area of computer vision. It has great application in industrial inspection. This paper presents a robust ‘corner feature extraction’ algorithm which extracts corner features of binary image without any assumptions and constraints. By using this algorithm, the optimal corner features are extracted to characterize the image. After corner features are obtained, a novel approach is proposed to acquire the boundary information, which is based on the least square fitting method. We show its efficiency with some test images.
