Summary
We prove that in a parton model which incorporates confinement there exists a subtle connection between analyticity of the virtual Compton amplitude and unitarity with quarks. Then we show that the experimental data on\(\nu \bar W_2 \) for pions and νW 2 for nucleons indicatein our model an exactly zero free mass of at least one of the u or d quarks. This turns out, also, to be essential to understand the accepted behaviour of the pion electromagnetic form factor.

Si prova che in un modello partonico che comprende il confinamento esiste una sottile connessione tra l’analiticità dell’ampiezza virtuale di Compton e l’unitarietà con i quark. Si monstra quindi che i dati sperimentali su\(\nu \bar W_2 \) per i pioni e νW 2 per i nucleoni indicano in questo modello una massa libera esattamentenulla di almeno uno dei quark u e d. Ciò risulta essenziale anche per capire il comportamento accettato del fattore di forma elettromagnetico del pione.
