Itô terms and the Maxwell field on the lattice

Summary

If lattice renormalization effects are ignored and the number of space-time dimensions is less than four, it is explicitly shown that the effective continuum action for the Maxwell field does not contain the so-called Itô term. As is known, the qualitative reason for this result is the flat character of the integration measure.

Se si igaorano gli efletti della rinormalizzazione del retioolo, e se il numero delle dimensioni dello spazio-tempo è minore di quattro, si mostra esplicitamente che l’azione efficace del continuo per il campo di Maxwell non contiene il cosiddetto termine di Itô. Come si sa, la ragione qualitativa di questo risultato è il carattere piatto della misura d’integrazione.
