Summary
We consider a scalar-meson field coupled with a fermion field and study the behaviour on the light cone of an ensemble of classical solutions that vanish for spacelike separation. We show that the leading singularity of the meson field on the light cone is given by a δ-function. On the contrary the fermion field cannot have δ- or δ′-singularities on the light cone. These results are connected with aq-number theory along the lines of the Heisenberg philosophy and indicate that the assumption of a positive definite metric is not consistent with the other assumptions of conventional quantized field theory.
