John W. Bennett is Distinguished Anthropologist in Residence at Washington University, St. Louis. He has received the American Anthropological Association’s Award for Distinguished Service, for contributions to both theory and praxis, and has published extensively on Japanese society and culture and on the economic and social development of the North American West.
