Quasi-normal modes of the Kerr-Newman black hole

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

The quasi-normal frequencies of the Kerr-Newman black hole are calculated using a well-known WKB semi-analytic method. It is the first time that quasi-normal frequencies for the Kerr-Newman black hole are ever calculated by any method. We consider perturbations with a frozen Maxwell field and a perturbed Einstein field. We were led to such a consideration, because, for combined perturbations of both fields, the equations do not decouple.
