Summary
The external bremsstrahlung (EB) spectra generated by complete absorption of beta-particles of170Tm (0.970 MeV) in targets of Al, Cu, Sn and Pb have been studied by using a high-efficiency scintillation detector. After making the necessary corrections the experimental distributions were converted into the number of photons of energyk perm 0 c 2 per unit photon yield and compared with the Elwert corrected Bethe-Heitler theory and Tseng and Pratt theory with and without contribution of electron-electron bremsstrahlung. The results of present measurements show a better agreement with the Tseng and Pratt theory than the Elwert-corrected Bethe-Heitler theory, especially, for medium- and high-Z elements.
