Multijet production and theQ 2 evolution of the non-singlet nucleon structure function in perturbative QCD

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

Jet production processes related to scale breaking effects in theF 2 nucleon structure function are analysed in leading-log approximation. Resumming soft and virtual gluons to all orders inα s introduces Sudakov factors in all multijet cross-sections. A commonly used ansatz for jet cross-sections is shown to be inconsistent with the well-known leading-log evolution equations forF 2.
