Abstract
Usefulness of liver biopsy was evaluated in 103 consecutive cases of hepatomegaly in children. It was invaluable in patients with primary liver disease. It also gave valuable information in long standing unexplained hepatomegaly and in pyrexial illness in malnourished children. It was not useful to detect liver involvement in tuberculosis and in patients with systemic infection.
