Abstract

The main growth parameters ofCladosporidium cladosporioides andStemphyllium botryosum in batch culture were determined and inhibitors were used to analyze the terminal parts of the respiratory chain ofV. cladosporioides and itsalm mutant. The data are discussed from the position of the theory ofr andK life strategy of fungi. Under experimental conditions, the fungal strains had the advantage of both selection types,i.e. the characteristics ofr strategy being realized in favorable, andK strategy in extreme conditions.
