g-factors of the lowest 3/2 and 5/2 states in107Ag and109Ag

Summary

The precession of the lowest 3/2 and 5/2 states in107Ag and109Ag, recoiling in thin iron foils, have been measured employing the transient-field method. Theg-factors have been measured relative to that of the first 2+ state in106Pd and resulted to be

$$\begin{gathered} g(\frac{3}{2}^ - ,{}^{107}Ag) = 0.70(9) g(\frac{5}{2}^ - ,{}^{107}Ag) = 0.45(6) \hfill \\ g(\frac{3}{2}^ - ,{}^{107}Ag) = 0.79(12) g(\frac{5}{2}^ - ,{}^{109}Ag) = 0.36(6) \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$

The values obtain have been compared with some theoretical predictions.

Riassunto

Usando la tecnica dei campi magnetici transienti sono state misurate le precessioni dei primi stati 3/2 e 5/2 in107Ag e109Ag. Come mezzo ferromagnetico sono stati usati fogli sottili di ferro. I fattori giromagnetici sono stati determinati relativamente a quello del primo livello 2+ nel106Pd. I valori ottenuti sono, per107Ag,g(3/2)=0.70(9) eg(5/2)=0.45(6) e, per109Ag,g(3/2)=0.79(12) eg(5/2)=0.36(6). Tali valori sono confrontati con alcune previsioni teoriche.
