Uncertainties in proton-proton scattering at low energies

Summary

Low-energy proton-proton scattering (LEPPS) provides information on the nucleon-nucleon forces relevant to all nuclei, including2He. Sources of uncertainties to current state of the art of experiments and data analyses are pointed out with estimates of effects.

  16. There is no perfect substitute to a proper calculation using the screened Coulomb field. However this field can be obtained superimposing an attractive field on the repulsive point charge field. Hence one obtains a «faster» incident particle on the target.
