Summary
We consider possible definitions of physical variables in QED. We demonstrate that it is possible to select physical variables by imposing the conditionA 3=0. The standard expression for configuration space path integral inA 3=0 gauge is obtained starting with reduced phase space formulation. Contrary to the claims of the paper (Lavelle M. and McMullan D.,Phys. Lett. B,316 (1993) 172) theA 3=0 gauge is not overconstrained.
