On the vanishing of evanescent operators in two-loop non-leading QCD corrections to weak processes

Summary

We consider the renormalization of local operators in two-loop non-leading QCD corrections to weak processes. Evanescent, (orE-) operators which vanish forn=4 are produced,n being the dimension of the Feynman integrals. In the minimal subtraction scheme, the renormalizedE-operators do not vanish forn=4, and we present a modified scheme to remedy this, keeping the definition of the physical operators, and their two-loop anomalous dimension unaltered.
