Sensitivity of the Stokes parameters in the decay b→sγg to the model of FCNC

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

We calculated the Stokes parameters which characterize the polarization properties of the photons produced in the decay b→sγg in the framework of the Standard Model (SM) and Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). It is shown that the Stokes parameter ξ3, which defines the linear photon polarization with a polarization vector in the decay plane, is very sensitive to the parameters of the above-mentioned models. The predicted values of ξ3 are large enough (in some cases it achieves the maximum possible value, ξ3→1). We calculated the energy dependence ofT- andP-odd Stokes parameter ξ1 which characterizes the linear photon polarization with polarization vector out of decay plane.
