Summary
In this paper we present a graphical formalism which enables us to write down immediately the corresponding dual function forN scalar mesons. The technique can accommodate the most generalN-point function of the type in which the integrand of the basic functionB N is modified by a polynomial in ∝ij andu ij, the Regge trajectory in theij channel and the corresponding integration variable respectively. We can then select solutions which have the correct isospin structure, have no ghosts on the leading trajectory, and satisfy the bootstrap principle. We have made a thorough analysis of the odd-G unnatural-parity trajectories and the even-G natural-parity trajectories. A novel feature associated with physical amplitudes is that the leading trajectory may be degenerate. The rules for the other cases are indicated and the theoretical and phenomenological implications of the results are briefly discussed.
