Summary
We present a perturbative approach to the problem of quantized Schrödinger and Klein-Gordon fields interacting through the Chew-Low derivative coupling. Despite the lack of relativistic invariance, a consistent renormalization program is elaborated. The model exhibits a Ward identity related to the fact that the rest energy of the Schrödinger particle is arbitrary, and a Callan-Symanzik equation whose β-function happens to be negative in the lowest order.
