Summary
A review of the clinical features of 100 cases of poliomyelitis revealed a male: female ratio of 2:1 and the onset of disease with in 5 years of age in 87%. In most children, a febrile illness of 1–5 days preceded the onset of paralysis. The common pattern of limb involvement was both lower limb and right lower limb. Proximal muscles were affected most often. The differences in the pattern of affection and its degree are analyzed comparing the findings with that of other workers.
