It should be clear that our modification of PCAC is equivalent to assuming that the matrix element of {ie509-1} between nucleons satisfies aSubtracted dispersion relation. See in this connectionH. Pagels:Phys. Rev.,179, 1337 (1969) who has shown the need for subtraction in this dispersion relation.
